Wisran Hadi was the third child of thirteen siblings who grew up in a devout family environment in the religion. His father, Haji Idris Darwas (Hadi) was the high priest of Muhammadiyah mosque, Kildare, hadith scholars and commentators as well as initiators and founders of the Faculty of Sharia Muhammadiyah University, Padang.
